LYSTERFIELD IS A SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL
We have installed solar panels on the roof which will generate electricity to run lights, computers and other school appliances. On sunny days, if the school generates more than it uses that extra electricity is exported to the main power grid.
Lysterfield is not only sunsmart but is a Sunschool .See our school’s solar electricity generation and use at a glance on - The Sunskool website which displays colourful graphs that update each time you visit the website.
Water tanks collect rainwater to service low water use toilets for students.
Students are encouraged to recycle and bring wrapper free lunches.
We recycle all paper and cardboard.
We collect cans for recyling.
Building will start in term 4 on a new bank of classrooms - so no more portables.
